When people think of giving to a nonprofit like Becca’s Closet, their first thought is often donating dresses, shoes, or accessories. And while these contributions are the heart of what allows us to provide free formalwear to teens in need, there is another type of giving that is just as impactful—the donation of services.

For a small nonprofit run almost entirely by volunteers, expenses like supplies, moving, and storage can quickly add up. Every dollar we don’t need to spend on these logistical costs can instead go toward expanding our mission: offering scholarships, free prom tickets at select high schools, and formal dresses for school-sponsored formal events.

This year, that generosity meant everything. With no permanent location secured yet, Becca’s Closet had more than 7,000 dresses sitting in self-storage, and it looked as though we might not be able to host a homecoming distribution in 2025. That’s when two incredible community partners stepped in.

All My Sons Moving & Storage generously donated their moving services to transport thousands of dresses from storage to the Galleria Mall in Fort Lauderdale. Once there, the Galleria Mall generously provided donated space for a two-weekend homecoming pop-up distribution event. Thanks to these acts of generosity, hundreds of South Florida girls with financial need will now have the opportunity to attend homecoming with confidence, dignity, and joy.

The lesson is clear: donated services multiply impact. By covering essential behind-the-scenes needs, local businesses help us stretch our resources further and serve more students than we ever could alone. This year, those donations didn’t just lighten our load—they made Homecoming 2025 possible.

To every company and individual who has donated not just items, but their time, expertise, and services, we are deeply grateful. You are helping us continue Becca’s legacy of kindness and ensuring that no teen has to sit on the sidelines of their own high school experience because of financial hardship.
