Becca's Closet FAQs

  • What is Becca's Closet?

Becca’s Closet is a national, non-profit organization that donates formal dresses to high school girls cannot afford to purchase them. Becca’s Closet also awards scholarships to deserving high school seniors who have demonstrated exemplary service to their communities.

The organization was created to honor the work of Rebecca Kirtman who passed away in an automobile accident in August 2003. In the spring of 2003, Becca single-handedly collected and distributed over 250 prom dresses to needy girls in South Florida so that they could attend their high school proms.

  • I need a dress! How can I get one?

You must be a high school girl with financial need who cannot afford to purchase a dress for a school-sponsored dance/event.

There are volunteer-led Becca’s Closet chapters in communities throughout the U.S.. Each chapter functions a little differently. Go to the Find a Chapter page of our website to locate a chapter near you and contact that chapter for information on how to get a dress! You will be required to provide proof of current high school enrollment.

If you live in South Florida, call (954) 424-9999 or click here to submit an appointment request form. One of our volunteers will call you to schedule your appointment to visit our storefront located in the Festival FleaMarket Mall in Pompano Beach, FL.
