At Becca’s Closet, we are constantly reminded that incredible things can happen when a community comes together. This fall, we faced one of the biggest challenges in our 23-year history: after decades of operating in donated space, we suddenly found ourselves without a permanent home for our 7,000-dress inventory. Without a solution, hundreds of South Florida high school students could have missed the chance to attend milestone events—like homecoming, prom, and Military Ball—with the confidence and joy they deserve.

That’s when Galleria Fort Lauderdale stepped up in an extraordinary way. The mall generously donated two storefronts so Becca’s Closet could host two weekends of homecoming pop-up dress distributions. Thanks to this partnership, girls with financial need could shop—free of charge—for beautiful dresses that made them feel confident, included, and ready for their special night.

But Galleria Fort Lauderdale didn’t stop there. At the last moment, they offered Becca’s Closet a perfect, 2,100-square-foot space to house our entire collection of 7,000 donated prom and homecoming dresses for the next six months. Their generosity gave us stability during a time of uncertainty and allowed our nonprofit to continue providing girls with free formal dresses.

Looking ahead, we are hopeful that this new space at Galleria Fort Lauderdale can remain our home more permanently. With this support, we can keep transforming lives—one dress, one student, one special night at a time.
