Nova High fashion show

The guys strut their stuff and the girls look picture perfect

The first annual Becca's closet  fashion show was hosted at Nova High auditorium  to recognize Becca's Closet and what the organization represents. In a continued effort to promote public awareness and to pay tribute to this outstanding charity, the students at Nova High in Davie, Florida put on an event that will be the buzz word for quite some time for all that attended. With Becca's family, friends and many of the Becca's Closet board members on hand, as well as students from all over the county and local media, the auditorium was almost filled to capacity.  Seniors Jenna Goldstein and Chelsea Koff organized this amazing night with what appeared to be the skills of veteran choreographers. The spectacular evening which included the Nova High step team and a talented band was enjoyed by all.

Thanks again Jenna , Chelsea and all the participants for a job well done !!!

Fashion Show

On Sunday, January 25th, Alfred Angelo, the Delray Beach-based dress manufacturer and retailer, hosted a Grand Prom Showcase to benefit Becca’s Closet. The event was held at the Orlove Auditorium at the David Posnack Jewish Community Center in Davie. One of the highlights was a fashion show featuring Alfred Angelo prom dresses.

Alfred Angelo first became involved with the project when Becca approached them for a donation of dresses last spring. “We were happy to support such a worthwhile cause, and Becca’s enthusiasm for the project was captivating,” states Cindi Freeburn, Director of Communications for the company, “Now that Becca is no longer with us, we feel privileged to have the opportunity to help continue her mission.”

Locally, Alfred Angelo Company Stores are in Boynton Beach, Deerfield Beach and at the Dadeland Mall in Miami. For more information, visit www.alfredangeloprom.com.

Other prom vendors at the event included New York Floral, Carolina Amato (headpieces and gloves), John Michele Salon, Michele's Treasures (Jewelry), Angelo's Formalwear (Tuxedo), and Coloriffics (prom shoes).

Tony acted as auctioneer during the live auction and got the crowd into a bidding frenzy to help raise money for scholarship funding for deserving young men and women.

A big thumbs up to Anthony's food and a great luncheon
Everyone enjoyed the fine cuisine and great raffle prizes.

Bob Barker didn't have a job available

Beccas favorite stuffed animal appears on Friends

"Monkey Bear", Becca's favorite stuffed animal appeared on the Friends television show,Thursday October  23rd. The episode which is titled Emma's First Birthday showed "Monkey Bear" in many scenes on the set. A special friend found out about Becca's love for the show and had the Kirtman family overnight the stuffed animal for the episode. We don't know about an Emmy, but this will certainly be an episode to remember!

Becca Honored

An emotional night  starting with the ribbon cutting ceremony for the Nova "Titans" new football field, also included the Honoring of Rebecca Kirtman. With dignitaries on hand, Nova Principal John LaCasse had Becca's parents Pam and Jay Kirtman escorted from the stands to the podium in the middle of the football field. Mr. LaCasse told Nova's packed stands along with visting Everglades High that the Kirtmans will always be a part of the Nova family and Rebecca will be remembered as an honor student, a cheerleader and a young lady that made a difference. Without a dry eye in the house the ceremony continued as the cheerleaders surrounded the Jacaranda tree that was planted in honor and memory of "Becca".
